Thanks so much for your thoughtful reply, Liana. I would never recommend writing in code because to do so suggests conspiracy, a felony. But I love your of the ten deep breaths following the questions. I think the internet has caused a lot of us to forget that there is, and should always be, space between what we think and what we say. I’m as guilty of this as anyone. Not every thought has to be written or shared with 8 billion people. Descartes didn’t say “I post therefore I am.”
Thank you so much Val, for speaking out and making this dynamic more conscious. Sometimes those comments you reference, though I don't know but can imagine which you are referring to, seem like gut reactions with little thinking about consequences, to oneself or to others. Those five questions plus 10 deep spacious breaths seem essential given how triggered everyone is by the increasing complexity, the confusion of multiple invested players, the expanding chaos and utter brutality we are witnessing. We should all be asking ourselves, what's the most important thing I can say here, and let the rest, the ignorant or unripened opinions go. A combination of ignoring what's unimportant along with compassion and a bit of generosity sometimes leaves the person to then reflect later upon their own words.
The editors motto is always "show (by example) don't tell." Mentoring is called for (What would most help the greater situation and the person here?)
Another related question I often have that maybe someone can answer, is how much of what I've learned from researching and other substacks should be brought into another substack/forum? At what point, depending upon the truths being expressed, do the "Feds" et al decide a site needs to be shut down? Those "laws" have already begun to be set up under Biden, prob expanded by DT. Do we all need to. pull back a bit and start writing in code? Yet speaking and sharing truth and building solidarity is so very critical!
Thanks for this call for solidarity, Val. We need that now more than ever.
Word, Sister.

Great advice, Val!
