It’s only the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl, and already Israel has killed at least 60 people in Rafah tonight. Diaa Mahmoud writes on Instagram: “More than 40 Israeli airstrikes in less than an hour; 2 mosques, 10 residential buildings, and areas near the Palestinian-Egyptian borders were targeted.”
Meanwhile, Mosab Abu-Toha writes: “The corpses of around 100 people were found in the streets of Rimal and Tal Al-Hawa in Gaza City today [northern Gaza] after the tanks left these neighborhoods. Most of people were shot dead by a sniper.”
Earlier today, the people of Rafah and Gazans displaced from throughout the Strip, issued the following statement courtesy of the Resistance News Network.
“We declare that we will not leave Rafah under any circumstances. We have decided to either die here or return to our homes victorious when the war has stopped.
“On behalf of every displaced person and on behalf of the people of Rafah, we call on all world powers to act forcefully to curb the aggression, stop the massacres, and prevent the Rafah catastrophe. We will not accept returning and leaving the people of Rafah who welcomed us, opened their hearts before their homes to us, and shared their food, clothing, and drink with us.
“We will not leave them alone.
“We have made our decision.
“And nothing will happen except what Allah has written for us. We also call on the free people in the land of Egypt, its proud and beautiful people who love Palestine, to act and pressure their government to put an end and prevent the Rafah operation.
“We will not leave Rafah.
“And we will die standing tall.
“Either victory... or martyrdom.
“The displaced and the people of Rafah.
“And Allah is the greatest.”
My heart is with you Gaza.
